Marines vs. Pirates

One of the biggest decisions you’ll be making at the start of the game is picking between the Pirates and the Marines. You can switch sides whenever you want to but keep in mind that your current character will die before doing so.

• Dealing the highest damage during Factory raids.

• Successfully beating Castle on the Sea and dealing the killing blow to the last enemy in the wave. If you’re on the Marines side, the equivalent of this is beating the Ship Raid.

• From fruit spawns in the world. These produce fruits at an hourly rate but during the weekends, you can get a spawn every 45 minutes.

• You can get one from other players as a gift or via trading. On the other hand, you can also get the fruits that players drop.

• There are some blox fruits that are exclusive rewards to some events.

Like Blox Fruits, swords and guns have different rarity levels. The higher the rarity, the better the gear but the harder it is to get them.

Guns

Guns are the ranged-counterpart of swords. They’re not as powerful as the swords themselves but they’re still pretty good considering that they deal decent damage from afar. You can use guns as a means to take out enemies that are trying to escape.

Unfortunately, guns cannot be upgraded, nor do they have special abilities like swords. However, some guns have different reload speeds and animations. You can get guns via:

Race Makes An Impact

There are two other races in the game which you can change to but there are certain requirements for them:

• Cyborg - Unlocked after completing the Cyborg Puzzle quest.

• Ghoul - You can buy this for 100 Ectoplasm and a Hellfire Torch with the help of Experimic.

Once you unlock the Cyborg and Ghoul races, you can switch to them by talking with the specific NPC that you got the race from.

Just last year, a new mechanic was unlocked for the game called Race Awakening. This adds more bonuses to your race other than the current passives you have. To unlock Awakenings, you’ll need to meet the following requirements:

• Reach the Third Sea.

• Have any Race V3

• Beat rip_indra, the Raid Boss at least once with your character.

• Completed the Sealed King Quest.

• Acquired a Mirror Fractal after defeating the Dough King.

• Locate the Blue Gear which is located on Mirage Island.

• You should have at least two characters on your account with different races, while meeting all of the criteria above as well.

Races have a significant impact on your character. It can pay to actually be mindful of your current build depending on the race that your character has.
